A living tableau for Sir Toby to
comment on at his entrance: Olivia is at her never-ending prayers,
accompanied by Malvolio her Steward of the House and her Handmaiden (a
character I added). |
The
sanctimonious Malvolio (Brian Linden), as always, at odds with Feste the
jester (Hal Klein). |
Sir Andrew
Aguecheek (Steve Abruscato), with his hand deftly brought "to the butt'ry
bar" by Maria (Molly Harrington). |
The famous
'letter scene'. Malvolio is oblivious to the letter stuck to his foot,
which Sir Andrew finally notices. |
Malvolio
fantasizes about lording it over Sir Toby, unaware he has an audience. |
The
mysterious message has Malvolio perplexed - for the moment. |
To Sir Toby's joy,
Malvolio exults in the belief "that my lady loves me!" |
Fabian
(Karen Sweeney) and Sir Toby gull Sir Andrew with tales of dread. "...you
will hang like an icicle on a Dutchman's beard." |
